LCNS2ROM - LICENSE TO ROAM: VANITY LICENSE PLATES AND THE GR8 STORIES THEY TELL, a forthcoming book, will tell, through prose, photography and graphics, 30 GR8 stories that inspired motorists to vanitize.

American and Canadian motorists have vanitized 9.7 million motor vehicles, according to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators – LCNS2ROM Vanity License Plates Survey, released exclusively to the Associated Press on November 11, 2007, and extensively reported in the American, Canadian and British media.

LCNS2ROM will feature vanitizers who have fought departments of motor vehicles to get or keep their VNTY PL8Z. Vanitizers frequently win their cases against DMVs, because the Supreme Court has held that the First Amendment's right to freedom of speech applies to license plates.

Freedom of vanitized speech became an issue this year, when South Dakota considered abolishing vanity plates, in reaction to a controversy over an anti-Bush vanity plate that said, MPEACHW. License plates will continue to generate news, and the LCNS2ROM creative team, assisted by a skilled publicist, will continue to generate media coverage.
